Help: How to Search

This tool is very flexible
& can be used many ways.
|
|
Note: Only items
with a valid price are displayed; if an item has no price, purchase, install or
maintenance, it will not be included in this tool.
|
|
It has been designed to operate much the same as the legacy GSA Look-up
did with some enhancements.
|
|
A.
|
To Search
specific products enter one of the six following fields (various wild cards
(see below) are possible & using them will display a list of possible matches
to choose from):
|
|
|
1. Material
Code
2. Price Element Code (PEC) {When searching by PEC use the frontmarket and not codes
with a suffix (A, U etc. - ex. use 6300-UCP as opposed to 6300-UCPA OR 6300-UCPAU}
3. SAP Description -
Standards & Abbreviations Descriptions
4. OEM Number
5. Product Hierarchy Description (Drop down menu) (Default = All)
6. Material Pricing Group (MPG) Description (Drop down menu) (Default = All)

To Sort on specific criteria:
(selection not required- default is “material code”)
|
|
|

Highlight desired criteria
|
|
|
2.

Click on
“>>” button – (you will see selection move to adjacent field) (Up to two sort
criteria are possible)
|
|
C.
|
Choose number of records
per page (selection not required- default is “25”)
|
|
D.

Click on “Search
Now”
|
|
|

If multiple items are displayed
|
|
|
|
i. Clicking
on the “Material Code” will display the long description & pricing information
|
|
Notes: Searching
on specific products will display only one item while searching on less specific
criteria will display an array of possible matches to choose from. Example: using
the “drop down” menus from #4, Product Hierarchy Description or #5, Material Pricing
Group above will result in multiple items displayed. Using wild cards may also display
multiple results.

Wild Cards:
Please note: wildcards are required for variables (blank spaces are not acceptable
and will result in “No Matching Records Found…”
|
|
|
"*"
|
can be used before and/or
after the text that is entered. Example “*def*”
|
|
|
"?"
|
can be used as a position
holder. For example “1?3”.
|
|
